Treatment can take on various forms, because for each individual sufferer the origin of the condition  can be different. Medication prescribed by your doctor can be one form of treatment, but the most natural and I think best,  is exercise. But are you aware of the types that you should avoid?

The most popular types of exercise that have been found to work well for fibromyalgia pain are Pilate’s, Tia Chi, yoga and walking , which the most simplest to implement. As in all cases of the beginning any type of exercise, it is important to start out slowly and increase over time the amount and range that you do or can accomplish.

For sufferers of fibromyalgia, it will be more painful at first, but if you persist and keep at it, you will feel a lot stronger and healthier. Just to emphasis this important point; it has been found that exercise is one of the leading treatments in the fight against fibromyalgia, because from doing exercises, your body produces natural pain killers such as serotonin.

My two favorites types of excercise are tai chi and yoga. As well as helping to treat the sypmtoms and pain of fibromyalgia, it helps to relieve stress which is turn helps with the depression and headaches that accompy this condition.

Unfortunately all exercise is not good for fibromyalgia. The ones that you should avoid are netball, basketball, dancing or any form that involves you to jump up and down. These are called high impact types and it is the low impact forms which have been already mentioned, are the ones that I recommend that you should stick with. Another one that I forgot to include and which I do like is swimming.

What ever exercise you decide to start, the big secret is to just do it. Start small and increase slowly. You will start to see the benefits over time and be very glad that you took the plunge. Good luck.
